A ship's load line mark: a disc bisected by a horizontal line, with the TF F T S W WNA ladder beside it.

Elexius · Audio software

so tief und nicht tiefer.

A one-room plugin workshop. Nothing here is re-derived: every circuit is lifted from something that already works, and every number on these pages is a measurement rather than an estimate.

Two plugins

eins fertig, eins auf dem tisch.

The Plimsoll window: a transfer curve over the circuit selector, the DRIVE and SAG faders, and three dials.

First product · built and measured

Plimsoll

Saturator · VST3 & AU

Two faders and a picture of what they are doing. A Class A transistor stage, two 12AX7s solved against a real load line, and a hysteresis transformer core you can move to four different places in the chain. A six-band curve decides which part of the spectrum drives the circuit without colouring what comes out.

The Center Line mockup: a Pong field beside a one-octave piano roll, with note length and spray faders.

Center Line

MIDI effect · in progress

A rally of Pong clocks the notes. Pick a root and a scale, set how far each hit may stray in pitch, octave and velocity, and the game plays the part. The saturator's transfer plot sits where this game used to be — it left, and became a plugin of its own.

The workshop

drei regeln, und sie kosten jedes mal zeit.

None of these make a plugin faster to build. They are here because the alternative is a product that is confidently wrong, and the three ways that happens are all avoidable.

One copy of the circuit

The picture on the panel runs the same headers the audio does. A viewer that restates its circuit in a second place will quietly drift from the thing it draws, and a viewer that has drifted is worse than no viewer at all.

Where a model is ported — into a display, into a page like this one — it is held against the original: 1240 values over 60 settings, and the difference named rather than tolerated.

A picture says its scale

Some things cannot be drawn true. A 200 : 1 drive range on one plot is either unreadable or dishonest, and both versions were built before that was believed.

So the drawn curve takes its character from the measurements and prints SHAPE INDICATIVE, NOT SCALE on itself. A display-scale picture that does not admit to being one is just a wrong measurement.

A number is a measurement

Every figure published here came out of the measurement suite, and when a default moves the figures measured at the old one get re-run rather than left to go stale silently.

It cuts the other way too. Where a control has no processing behind it yet, the panel prints NO DSP YET on the control instead of leaving you to find out.

noch nichts zu kaufen.

Plimsoll is built, measured and running, but it is not on sale yet — the download host, the update feed and the licence issuer are wired up and switched off. Leave an address and you will hear once, when there is a build to download.
